The Local Assessment
The Local Assessment is our tool for uncovering red-flag indicators of failed resilience. Specifically we look at Education, Waste, and Water systems. The assessment is made up of three steps:
1) Evaluating the State of Waste and Water Management
2) Report and Solution Recommendation
3) Solution Implementation and Monitoring

1: Evaluating the State of Waste and Water Management
During this stage Connect 3 sends researchers into the field to conduct a Waste Audit, Water Audit, and Mentality Surveys. Waste Audits include the sampling of volumes, weights, types, sources, infrastructure and impacts of waste accumulation. Water Audits include the sampling of levels, locations and sources of contaminants and water infrastructure. Mentality Surveys are deployed to get a better understanding of the community’s perspective on their health and environment and includes questions on perceptions of: sources, impacts, and opinions on waste and water management.
